Henry has successfully completed his three month probationary period. We spoke to him whilst he was in the office to see how he felt his first three months has gone.
I have now been working at Guardian for three months being an air conditioning apprentice and have enjoyed it thoroughly. For this three months I was on my probation period so Guardian could see how I was going to progress in the future. I am now happy to say I have passed my probation period.
Within my first three months I feel like I have learnt so much. I have learnt the main functions of parts in an air conditioning system. Also with the practical side I have learnt how to repair certain parts to a unit, how to check if there are any faults which may stop the unit from working. I have learnt so much and I am really pleased, this is down to engineers within the air conditioning team taking their time to teach you all these skills which is a good thing. Now I have passed my probation period I am really looking forward to my future with Guardian and I am looking forward to become a fully qualified air conditioning engineer.
Caroline Giles, Service Office Manager has put a few words together so Henry can receive some feedback also.
When Henry attended the apprentice evening and interview with us we knew that he had great potential and would be good on our apprenticeship scheme that we run here at Guardian. Being the youngest of our apprentices Henry lacked some life experience through no fault of his own. He has however coped really well with the massive change of coming straight to school into working full time and college.
We were really impressed with his work ethics, attitude and his initiative when passing his moped test to help him get to work. He has fitted in well with the rest of the team because of this and they really respect him. He always gets involved in team overtime when required and socials with the whole company outside of his working hours. This goes a long way with the rest of the team and they always speak highly of him and don’t think of him as just an apprentice, as he is an important part of the air conditioning team. In the three months he has been here he has grown as a person already and come out of his shell.
Within his weekly meetings we have fed back the mentors comments to help Henry develop and learn new skills. His mentor Oliver is really pleased with his progress so far and has done a fantastic job in coaching him and making sure Henry is aware of the expectations from Guardian and clients. Ensuring that he helps Henry reach his true potential and be the best he can be. Henry is a product of Oliver’s close mentoring skills and their rapport and working relationship is great to see!
Henry is set to do really well in his future with Guardian Environmental.
Well done on passing your probation period Henry!
