Mobile Commercial Gas and Plumbing Engineer

Permanent role, working throughout Milton Keynes, Northampton and surrounding areas.

Main duties

  • Undertake maintenance tasks, call out response & repair of all types of gas heating and plumbing.
  • Efficiently maintain and repair plant/equipment
  • To carry out diagnostic, fault finding
  • Maintain PPM Paperwork
  • To identify areas for additional works within and out of the specified contractual requirements
  • To understand, complete all work related documentation accurately on time and to exceed the customers expectations.
  • To understand & comply with policies and procedures
  • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
  • To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • To attend, fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
  • To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

Person specification

  • Gas Safe
  • COCN1, MET1, CCN1, CEN1, CKR1, HTR1, CDGA1, CIGA1, CODNCO1, CORT1,UVHW
  • NVQ Plumbing
  • Must be willing to work at height
  • A good general experience in working in occupied premises
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
  • The ability to communicate at all levels
  • Generally IT literate
  • Clear communicator both oral and written
  • A customer focused approach

Working hours

  • Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (on site 8.30am off site 4.30pm)
  • ½ lunch break
  • 28 days holiday per annum including bank holidays
  • Be available for call out rota.

Air Conditioning/Building Services Mobile Engineer

£28,000 – £32,000 a year

An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and reliable air conditioning / building services engineer to join a privately owned facilities maintenance provider that has been trading since the early nineties. Through our client focused approach, we are proud to have built long term business relationships with many prestigious clients. We are expanding and looking to recruit top quality engineers to join our successful team of engineers. The successful candidate will be rewarded with a fully compensated company vehicle as well as a tablet system and mobile phone; you will also enjoy an excellent mobile patch covering Leeds and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate must be willing to travel on a daily basis as required for the needs of the business and participating in an emergency call out rota is essential.

As a minimum you will require the following qualifications and practical experience:

Qualifications – Essential

  • City & Guilds 2079
  • NVQ Level 3 Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
  • Qualifications – Desirable
  • 17th Edition Electrical
  • IPAFF- Desirable
  • PASMA- Desirable

Experience

  • Be experienced at working on a wide range of Air Conditioning Equipment and general building services plant.
  • Have excellent internal and external customer facing communication skills
  • Have good written communication skills
  • Be able to complete required electronic paperwork in a timely and efficient manner
  • Be able and happy to work alone or in a team as required
  • Job objectives and responsibilities

The job holder shall participate in the functions and activities of the regional team as required ensuring that all equipment within their control is correctly maintained and repaired, maximising plant efficiency on operation and the safety of all other personnel at all times. To operate, maintain and manage efficiently with the minimum of supervision new and existing building services to specified standards as determined by the company. To manage PPM, day works, statutory compliance and call-outs as appropriate.

Main duties

  • Repair defective equipment effectively or recommend remedial action as appropriate.
  • Carry out routine planned maintenance work.
  • The installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Ensuring plant/equipment is maintained in accordance with the Planned Preventative Maintenance System. In line with the maintenance standard SFG20.

They’re highly skilled in their field and carry the following qualifications along with a smile on their face whilst attending customer sites:

  • Must be Approved Electrician 17th Edition 2391/2394 Qualified
  • City & Guilds level 3 Electrical Installations
  • City & Guilds 17th Edition Regulations
  • Asbestos Awareness (advantageous but not essential)
  • CSCS/ECS Card (advantageous but not essential)
  • Good communication skills and organisation a must
  • Must be able to work on own as well as part of a team
  • Basic IT skills a must
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Our electricians travel on a daily basis from site to site in their company van and are all willing to participate in the emergency call out rota to ensure our customers stay safe and happy.

The nitty gritty

  • 08:30 to 16:30 on site plus 1 hour travel time per day up to 30 miles from home.
  • Travel above 30 miles is paid door to door.
  • Call out Rota 1 in 6 weeks.
  • £30,000 – £31,000 for the very best candidate

Electrical Qualified Supervisor

£33,000 – £35,000 a year

Guardian Environmental Services Ltd is a 25 year established business supplying a full of facilities maintenance technical services to the commercial and educational sector across England.

We are looking to attain NICEIC accreditation for our service and installation teams and to quickly build the electrical side of the business through our existing client relationships.

We are currently looking for an individual to be responsible for attaining the accreditation and to act as our Qualified Electrical Supervisor.

This will be an on-the-tools role working with the teams carrying out test & inspection, reactive and commercial installations with the added supervisory responsibilities as we grow the team.

This will involve: –

  • Setting up the paperwork and liaising with the NICEIC to attain accreditation with a short timescale.
  • Maintain the NICEIC registration, including overseeing the annual NICEIC assessment.
  • To carry out duties as a NICEIC qualified supervisor, validate and sign off NICEIC certification.

Key skills & qualifications required

  • Have previous experience of working as an NICIEC qualifying supervisor.
  • A proven background in a similar role, ideally commercial electrical installations, test & inspecting.
  • Hold appropriate qualifications to undertake the role such as:
  • C&G 17th Edition IET Regulations BS7671
  • C&G (2394 & 2395) or 2391 Testing and Inspection
  • C&G 2360 Pt 1 & Pt 2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • CSCS card
  • SMSTS
  • Be organised and responsive, with the ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Able to influence people through clear, concise communication skills in both verbal and written format.
  • Must be happy to travel
  • Have great Customer care skills.

Approved Electrician

£30,000 – £34,000 a year – Permanent

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrician to join our growing team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to strengthen our team and progress the growing of the electrical side of our business,with the rapidly expanding company. We undertake a variety of work from Installation, Maintenance and Electrical test and inspection. We work across all sectors including Commercial, Healthcare, Education and Industrial. This is a customer facing role so all candidates will need to be presentable and there is an aspect of customer service involved. Candidates must be competent in testing and inspection including certification and you will need to provide evidence of your experience in this area. The successful candidate must be willing to travel on a daily basis as required for the needs of the business and participating in an emergency call out rota is essential. You will need to be based in London.

Primary roles of the Approved Electrician will be:

  • Maintenance Work
  • Electrical Installations (Commercial & Industrial)
  • Testing and inspection including certification
  • Emergency lighting (testing repair and installation
  • An understanding of general building services
  • Emergency call out rota developing with growth of the division

About you

  • You must be self-motivated but also capable of working as part of a group

  • A full UK Driving License is essential.
